Rather than making a focal point that could look disposable, we decided to house them in a gorgeous and inexpensive canopy from Ikea.
All you need are poms, string and a wire hoop.
1. Create a grid by tying pieces of string about 1.5” apart on the wire form and then basket weaving (over and under) the perpendicular strings. Use a hot glue gun to secure the ends to the hoop and trim the string so there are no dangly’s. You can also use a pot hanging rack if you don’t want to go the DIY route.
2. Next, tie a string around a pom and tie it on the grid, working from the center out. You’ll want to be sure the poms are placed at various heights.
Tip: To work while hanging the poms, place two chairs back to back and rest the hoop on it so you can see how they fall.
3. Lastly, secure the hoop to the ceiling or like I did, to the center of the canopy form with strings.
