This is my last week before returning to work from maternity leave (tear), so I took the girls to see Oscar de la Renta: The Retrospective at the De Young Museum. Thank goodness my mom was there to help me chase around the 2-year old since they didn’t allow strollers in the exhibit. Fiasco aside, it was a lot of fun with inspiration up the wazoo.
Exotic caftans to die for.
The colors and pattern in this dress. Inspo hello.
I fell in love with the Garden installation. Partly because of that amazing wall, partly because the colors remind me of Harper’s nursery and mostly because it screams Spring refresh. Did you know Oscar was an avid gardener? There was a video of his New Hampshire estate and exquisite garden.
This fuchsia number with gold embroidery was definitely one of my favorites. It says stately, regal and fun. My mom thought it was too old fashioned, but I’m a sucker for that detail work and symmetry. I’m thinking Kerry Washington.
This was Harper’s favorite. What can I say, my toddler has great taste lol.
I try to get at least 1 piece of art from every exhibit I visit. These art cards will definitely come in handy when I design my next room. They’re perfect for inspo boards, coming up with color schemes, gallery walls and table top displays. Most importantly, they’ll remind me of the first fashion exhibit I’ve taken my girls to ))cue the waterworks((
